Unique Spring Getaways in the Texas Hill Country

Now, before we get started, if you’re not sure where the Texas Hill Country is, I have you covered. Head to this post for a map and why spring is the best time to visit.

Pinehaven Luxury Glamping

I love a good “glamping” experience. If you don’t know what that is, it’s basically a tent but with real beds and a shower. I love that this one is tucked away in the trees.

Where it is: La Grange, TX

What’s Nearby: La Grange is about half way between Austin and Houston so it’s a great getaway from either city. It’s also the perfect place to go wildflower spotting!

Travis Treehouse

Staying above the trees is a fun way to experience the hill country. This spring getaway is perfect for watching sunsets from your own balcony!

Where it is: Austin, TX

What’s Nearby: There’s plenty to do in Austin! As the capitol of Texas there’s no shortage of activities to keep you busy.

Treetop River Cabins

Now, what’s better than a treetop cabin? A treetop cabin with river access! Enjoy your views of the river from your own balcony.

Where it is: Near Comfort, TX

What’s Nearby: Well the river of course! It’s also only about 40 minutes from Fredericksburg which has wine, shopping, and restaurants.

City Views

If you’re more into staying in the city then this one might be for you. It’s right in Austin, near Zilker Park and has its own hot tub and putting green!

Where it is: Austin, TX

What’s Nearby: Well the entire city! Plus, Zilker Park which is a great place to walk, relax, picnic, etc

Magical Castle Suite

There’s not a lot of castles in Texas so this definitely had to make the list of unique spring getaways. Plus, there’s views of Lake Travis!

Where it is: Austin, TX

What’s Nearby: Lake Travis, Hippie Hollow, and all of the city!

Hobbit’s Nest

This is a place I have stayed and we loved it! The views are lovely and it feels very secluded. The bathroom is not inside the bedroom which was fine for us, but not for everyone.

Hobbit House unique spring getaways in Bastrop Texas
For an unique spring getaway, try the Hobbit House in Bastrop, TX

Where it is: Bastrop, TX

What’s Nearby: Bastrop has shopping, BBQ, and a state park. It’s a great place for wildflower hunting and only 45 minutes from Austin, TX

This new accommodation in Fredericksburg, TX is quickly becoming one I want to stay in! I love wine, so wine not? Yes, I went there

Where it is: Fredericksburg, TX

What’s Nearby: Wine! Also, shopping, restaurants, and spas are all in Fredericksburg

Historic Pullman Train Car

How fun would it be to stay in a train car?! It has everything you need, even two bathrooms and small kitchen.

Where it is: Fredericksburg, TX

What’s Nearby: All the lovely things in Fredericksburg

Dome House

Stay in a cute little dome house with access to the river in a secluded area.

Where it is: Wimberley, TX

What’s Nearby: Wimberley has cute shops, restaurants and wineries. It’s also just a little over an hour from either San Antonio or Austin.
