I have a confession to make: I love planning and organizing. I actually don’t mind putting away holiday decor. It’s satisfying to put it all away and start a clean slate for the next season. I also love making lists and I use spiral journals for these lists.
In college, I would have multiple notebooks with to do lists and multiple calendars. Now, they may sound confusing, it was to my roommate, but I had a process and it worked well. I’m here to share that process with you.
Photo Journals
So why photo journals? Why not just regular spiral notebooks? Well because the photos remind me of what I’m working toward. If travel doesn’t speak to you,
How to Organize Your Year

To begin with organizing your year, you’ll need three journals. Lucky for you, you can find them below! There’s three steps to this process and it will help you keep goals and task separate.
Once you’ve got your three journals, here’s what you do:
1. Start with the big goals: Use journal one to write these. Take the time to decide what the goals are and why you want to accomplish them, write this down. Give each goal its own page.
2. Break them into small tasks: Use journal number two for breaking down your goals into tasks. You’ll get nothing accomplished if you just have giant goals. Think about each of the things you’ll need to do in order to accomplish these goals. Write them in journal number two. Give yourself space to add to the tasks or take away.
3. Plan when you will do each of the tasks: Use journal number three to make actual plans. Take it month by month and schedule out when you’re going to complete each of the tasks you wrote down in the second journal.
Now you’ve got three journals with all the details you need for a successful year. You can mark off tasks, goals, and days with each one.
