Fall doesn’t really arrive in San Antonio Texas until about November, if then. However, if you’re a lover of all things fall, you can still celebrate it with these September events happening in the area. I’ve got scary events for adults only and kid-friendly events around the area to help you celebrate fall, even if it doesn’t feel like fall. If you’re looking to find fall colors, use this post to help you find the foliage.

Top Travel Resources
After decades of traveling, there’s 3 companies I tend to use over and over and recommend to everyone:

September Events to Embrace Fall
SeaWorld Festivals
SeaWorld has two different festivals starting in September. Howl-O-Scream is an adults only, scary September event that runs through November. It’s not for the faint of heart! Think haunted houses and terrifying decor.
Keep it family-friendly with the Spooktacular September Event that also runs through November. It’s got jack-o-lanterns, friendly faces, and good ‘ol fashioned Halloween and Fall fun.

Six Flags Festivals
Six Flags also hosts two different festivals. One is family-friendly and one is meant to scare ya. Attend Fright Fest for a scary good time or take the kids to the Kid’s Boo Fest.
You can also get started early on Octoberfest at Six Flags. It runs September 6 to October 26.

San Antonio Zoo
Zoo Boo is one of my favorite fall activities to do with kids in San Antonio. Test out those Halloween costumes and do some trick or treating early at the zoo. Please note, that all costumes must be non-scary and family-friendly for this event.

Private Pumpkin Patch Photos
Finally, book time in a private pumpkin patch for a fun photoshoot! Sessions are a minimum of 30 minutes and include 10 digital images to download, print, and share however you see fit!
Sessions are held on October 5 but bookings are open now.
