And even though it doesn’t always feel like fall outside in the Texas Hill Country, there’s still fun halloween activities to find! I’ve rounded up a list of family friendly Halloween activities in the area to help you celebrate the season!

Celebrate the fall season in Texas with our thrilling Halloweekends! From pumpkin patches to costume contests, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Plus, you’ll have a blast playing carnival games and laughing at all the family-friendly tricks and treats!

Movies in the Park: Hocus Pocus

Thursday, Oct. 26 | 6:30 pm | 4550 Mueller Blvd.
This free, outdoor movie is brought to you by the Austin Parks Foundation and will be featuring Hocus Pocus.  Pack a picnic, blankets, and lawn chairs. 

Trick or Treat Trail at San Gabriel Park in Georgetown

Thursday, Oct. 26 | 5 pm – 7 pm, Trick-or-Treat Trail | 7 pm Movie screening of Coco | 445 E Morrow St.
The City of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department invites you to its Trick or Treat Trail in San Gabriel Park. This is a FREE and fun-filled family event. Get dressed up for candy, games, and fun! Stay after dark for a movie at the Legacy Pavilion. The trail runs from 5 pm- 7 pm and a screening of Coco starts at 7 pm. 

Boo at the Zoo

Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 28 | 5:45 pm – 9 pm | 10808 Rawhide Trail
Take a stroll through the zoo at night! At this family-friendly event, you can explore the grounds at your leisure while hearing the nighttime sounds of the Zoo’s nocturnal animals. Feel free to pack a picnic (no glass) and dine in the Picnic Grove, or visit the concession truck for a special treat.  Tickets are $22 per person, and include Boo at the Zoo entry, unlimited visits through the Haunted House (as the line allows), and a seat for a reserved train ride

Beyond Limits Spooktacular

The DoSeum’s sensory-friendly event is back for Halloween. Kids are invited to enjoy trick-or-treating, arts and crafts, and other fun Halloween activities in a calm environment meant to support children of all needs, including those with sensory sensitivities. Oct. 26, 6-8 p.m. 2800 Broadway.

Zoo Boo

Bring the kids in costume to the San Antonio Zoo for its annual Halloween fest. There are activities taking place each day through Oct. 31, including costume parties and contests, dance parties, trick-or-treating and more. Daily through Oct. 31, 3903 N. St. Mary’s St.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Fest

The final weekend of the San Antonio Botanical Garden’s Fall-o-Weekends is dedicated to fun Halloween activities. Bring the kids for trick-or-treating along an enchanted fairytale lane. There will also be several fairytale and villain characters available for photos. Oct. 29-30, trick-or-treating is 4-8 p.m. on Oct. 29. 555 Funston Place
