When you think Spring Break, you don’t necessarily think Spring Break Texas locations. However, Spring is really the best time to head to the hill country of Texas or even a beach or two. We may not boast the best beaches but during the spring time, they can be a great place to visit and less crowded than other locations.

Spring Break Texas Locations
There’s four smaller places I recommend in Texas for spring break and two big cities. They each have their own charm and reason for visiting. Let’s get started.
Austin or San Antonio
First up, the two big cities. Austin and San Antonio are both great cities with plenty to do but in the spring, the weather is much better than the summer, fall, or winter. It’s also the pretty season.
In addition, San Antonio has things like Sea World and Fiesta Texas if that is your thing. Regardless, both cities have a lot to offer and would make a great spring break location. If big cities are what you’re looking for with lots to do, then either of these are the perfect choice.
Burnet
Now this next one might seem really weird, but Burnet is a haven for wildflowers. So, if you’re going to spend spring somewhere in Texas and it’s not going to be a big city, then Burnet is a good idea. There is also Longhorn Cavern State Park, Inks Lake State Park and Lake Buchanan which are all lovely places to visit. If nature is what you’re looking for, Burnet is a great choice.
Wimberley
Wimberley is a cute little town with adorable shops and much smaller than Fredericksburg. It’s also close to both Austin and San Antonio which makes it a great choice for spring break. Wildflowers can also be found in Wimberley during March and April. If you love shopping local, spring flowers, and small town vibe, Wimberley is for you.
Galveston
The beaches of Texas are mediocre at best but Galveston is a cute town to spend some time in. You’ll also have a beach that won’t be super crowded. Downtown Galveston is very cute and there is Moody Gardens for the kids as well. If you want a beach, small town, and a few cutesy things for kids to do, Galveston is a great choice.
National Parks: Big Bend & Guadalupe Mountains
Finally, let’s talk National Parks. There are two in Texas and they are both worth visiting. Big Bend National Park and Guadalupe Mountains National Park are beautiful. You do not want to go to Big Bend in the summer or even late spring as it gets very hot. However, mid March is a great time to visit. Similarly, you don’t want to go to Guadalupe Mountains too early in the year as it can be very cold. If hiking is what you’re looking for these national parks should be top of your list.
