After decades of traveling, there’s 3 companies I tend to use over and over and recommend to everyone:
Flower Destinations Around the World
Wildflowers in the Texas Hill Country
We are starting close to home with this one. The Texas Hill Country is a magical place in the spring. When rainfalls are good, the roadsides turn blue, red, yellow, and more. We have Lady Bird Johnson to thank for this. She spear-headed money being spent on wildflower seeds every year.
The state flower, the bluebonnet is a persnickety bugger but when it blooms, it is beautiful and well worth the wait. The downside is that if the rain isn’t great, they may not bloom. However, there are loads of other flowers that will bloom without heavy rains.
Where to find them: Texas Hill Country is the area surround Austin, TX

Cherry Blossoms in Japan
Next up, a definite bucket list destination for me is Japan. I can’t wait to go there one day and seeing the cherry blossoms is top of the to do list. The tough part about them is the timing and cherry blossom season is peak travel time in Japan, but it’s well worth it to me.
Where to find them: There are loads of parks with them starting in Tokyo, find a full list here.
Tulips in Netherlands
If cherry blossoms are the top of the list, then tulips are the next best thing. We have seen tulip fields in Australia and they were amazing, however, I would love to see them in the Netherlands. The bright colors are truly something you have to see at least once. Think of it like fields of rainbows.
Where to find them: Amsterdam has tulip fields with Keukenhof Gardens being the “premier garden”.
Lavender in France
Another bucket list flower destination that I’ve actually checked off is France. The lavender fields of Provence, France are pretty special. And if you time it right, you’ll get to see sunflowers as well. I recommend heading to the area in June and don’t miss out on the Gorges du Verdon that is nearby. Roll the windows down as you drive by the fields and smell the fragrance, it’s lovely.
Where to find them: Valensole is the main area for lavender fields.

Bluebells in United Kingdom
Funny story about this one. I have a very good friend in England that thought when I was talking about bluebonnets that they were the same as bluebells, but don’t be confused, they are two different flowers. I’d love to see the bluebells in the U.K. one day.
Where to see them: It seems you can find them all over if you’re there during the right time, even London.
Marigolds in Mexico
Next up is the marigolds in Mexico. I’ve always been drawn to marigolds and how they are used for Dia de los Muertos. The beautiful colors are something to be seen.
Where to find them: Areas around Mexico City
Sunflowers in Italy
Finally, we finish with one of my absolute favorite locations and flowers. One day I will see the sunflowers in Tuscany. Ever since I saw the movie Under the Tuscan Sun I have dreamed of buying a house in Tuscany. While that probably won’t happen, I will one day head to Italy for the sunflowers.
Where to find them: You will definitely find them in Mugello in the months of July and August.
