Do you print your photos? Do you know how to print photos in a way that you can display them? Or do they stay on your computer/phone forever? What if I told you that fewer than half of people have printed photos anymore? That means it’s not uncommon. BUT… experts believe that because of how quickly technology changes it’s possible we could lose access to our digital photos. This is because we won’t be able to use the technology in future years.
So basically, print your photos, because when that phone craps out and they change the technology, you could lose them.
Additionally, files can become corrupted over time, as nothing digital last forever. When you print your photos with a high quality printer (sorry not Costco), your printed photos will last longer and be available for generations. Our grandparents didn’t print photos at a drugstore.
Printing was more expensive back then because it was better quality. When we found ways to print cheaper, the quality down-graded.
Don’t worry, there’s lots of ways to have printed photos and I’m going to walk you through 5 of them today. When you get a gallery back from your photographer, order prints then. Don’t wait because the longer you wait, the less chance you’ll go back and do it.

How to Print Photos to Display Them
Simple Prints
Yes, this is simple as the name suggests but don’t overlook it. You might think you can’t invest in high quality prints because you’re thinking only about huge canvases. Smaller, high quality prints are not going to break the bank.
Albums
If you want something that can really be passed down from generation to generation, an album is a great way to go. It also makes a great coffee table book. When you order a high quality album, it will look nice in your home wherever you put it.

Mounted Print
Now what is a mounted print? It’s a high quality print that is then mounted on sturdy backing material. This means it will last longer and its more durable.
Metal Print
A metal print is another fancy way to display your photos. Metal prints will show off the colors in your photos better than anything else. So if you’re a fan of your photos adding the pops of color to your home, then this is for you.
Canvas
Finally, a canvas is also a great choice. Photographers like to refer to canvases as “forgiving”. This means they don’t show every little detail as crisply as a regular print when blown up. This creates a softer look and is great if you don’t want the details of your face on your walls.

Final Thoughts on How to Print Photos
One way people don’t realize how to print photos is to make great gifts. Grandparents love getting coasters, pillows, blankets, and more that they can display in their home. I’m sharing my favorite place to get these items below so you can start creating.
