No matter what you’re celebrating, photographic prints are always a good idea and a meaningful gift. The reality is that so many people don’t do this. They don’t print their photos in any way and that’s not a good idea. Technology fails, and then poof, all your photos are gone. As a professional photographer, I can’t possibly keep every photo I take forever for my clients. It would just cost too much. I keep them for a long time, longer than most, but the ultimate backup needs to be done by the client. The best way to do this is to print your favorites.
What I really don’t understand is that people will spend 100s on a photo session but never print a single photo. And really, you don’t have to just print a stack of 4×6 images, there’s so many ways to use and create photographic prints these days. Gone are the days of printing just a stack of photos and never really looking at them. It doesn’t have to be that way. Here are 10 ways to create photographic prints you will actually look at, and, if technology fails, be glad you have.

10 Types of Photography Prints to Add to your Wish List
Large Format Prints
First up for photographic prints is large format photos. Don’t skip the obvious. Large photos make a great gift. They can be pricier so a lot of people don’t print them, so make this a gift. It’s perfect for Christmas, birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc. Large prints make a great statement in the home and cannot be missed.
Photographic Prints with Quotes
Next is photographic prints with quotes. This is a personal favorite of mine. I love adding quotes to my photography. I sell these as downloadable images so you can use them for your phone background, print them out, or create your own gifts, such as cell phone covers, bags, etc. More on that below.
Stickers
Stickers are all the rage and I’m hopping on the bandwagon for sure. They can be used on water bottles, laptops, suitcases, ice chests… you get the idea. I love creating stickers so I can see my photographs all the time.
Acrylic Photographic Prints
If the first two products aren’t unique enough for you, then buckle up because we are going off the usual now. Acrylic prints are a great way to add something one-of-a-kind to your walls. They make a great gift because they’re completely different from anything else. These acrylic prints come in three sections making them even more special.
Clock
Now moving away from all kinds of basic wall art is this next photographic print. Get photos made into clocks. I love these wooden clocks. They are simple and beautiful and look even better with a travel photo.
Notebook
Notebooks are a great gift because they are useable! They make the perfect stocking stuffer and adding photos to them just makes it more meaningful. One can never have too many notebooks.
Bags Using a Photographic Print
Another thing you really can’t have enough of is bags. They are endlessly useful and a great way to achieve photographic prints from travels.
Canvas
This next idea is one you should not overlook. Canvases make for great gifts and a big statement if printed large. Canvases are also very forgiving with photos and therefore you can print them large or small.
Passport Cover Using Photographic Print
